Following a deadly artillery strike from North Korea on Tuesday, South Korea banned its nationals from entering the communist state, indefinitely postponed their scheduled Red Cross talks and began looking at ways to push the United Nations to condemn Pyongyang.
North Korea fired a barrage of about 100 artillery shots toward the South Korean island of Yeonpyeong in the Yellow Sea Tuesday afternoon, killing at least two marines. The South's countermeasures, announced hours later by unification and foreign ministry officials, will likely evolve into tougher actions.
